Election 2022 Information

City Council Election

2022 is an election year for the Halstad City Council.  If you are interested in running for a seat on the council, a great first step is visiting with a prior volunteer or one of the current members.  Interested candidates may file with the city clerk from August 2, 2022 until August 16, 2022 at 5 PM.  To file, complete the Affidavit of Candidacy and submit with the $2.00 filing fee.

Mayor – 2 year term
Council Member – 4 year term
Council Member – 4 year term

Mail Ballot Procedures

Voters in the City of Halstad in Norman County will vote entirely by mail in statewide elections as authorized by the city under MN Statutes 204B.45.

For 2022 statewide elections, the election dates and the corresponding dates that ballots will be mailed to all registered voters in mail ballot precincts are:

Statewide Primary Election: August 9, 2022
Ballot Mailing Dates: June 24 – July 26, 2022
Statewide General Election: November 8, 2022
Ballot Mailing Dates: September 23 – October 25, 2022

Each voter registered by July 19, 2022 for the Statewide Primary Election, and/or October 18, 2022 for the Statewide General Election will be mailed a ballot automatically.  Click HERE to get registered or to check your registration information

Landmark, located in Halstad, Minnesota was formerly the Norman County West High School.  The mission of Landmark is to promote community and advance the self-sufficiency of residents of all ages in a state-of-the-art Community Education, Fitness and Recreation Center.
